Gorgeous Daisy Duke is 3 years old, and about 75 lbs, so she is full grown. Daisy loves going on long walks, especially when she gets to go through the woods! She'll snuggle right up to you on the couch! Ideally her family would be able to let her experience a little bit of everything. She is very smart and knows a few commands, like "sit" and "paw".

In Vernon at one time, there were more than 60 packing plants and 12 slaughterhouses. Rudy Enriquez, now a retired music manager, has refused to sell the property, though he has admitted to frequenting the site to feed his two cats who live there. The exterior of the mansion is in slow decay, and the local neighbors have had to pitch in to help maintain the property. This tour is perfect for a company team building activity.
The Cat Walk
She is a sweet girl who is looking for her second chance after waiting so long. Pepper is the sweetest old man you'll ever meet! 10 years young, he's full of love and affection! Pepper came to us through no fault of his own - his elderly owner was moving in with relatives who were allergic to cats.

Father John’s Animal House is a limited admission shelter. This means that no adoptable animal is ever euthanized because of breed, age, space requirements, or a treatable condition. We also seek to be a resource of information and service for the community to encourage responsible and committed pet ownership. Petfinder currently includes pets and adoption organizations from the regions listed above. Please check back in the future for any potential expansion. Your donation makes a huge difference for us and the animals.

Our wide-open spaces dotted with trees, barns, and loving animals make our location the perfect outdoor, peaceful experience for any event to be remembered. Live too far away from The Gentle Barn to visit in person? No worries, we have virtual tours where you can meet the animals, hear their stories, and get to know them.
Our programs follow the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) to make sure that we support teachers' curricula. Join us for a celebration of pets as we raise money for ALL the homeless animals here at Father John's. Please reach out with any questions about our shelter or animals.
He's a sweet, curious boy who seems to enjoy meeting pretty much everyone! We don't know how he is with cats, and he seems to like a lot of dogs he meets, just not everyone (which is fair!).Come give our handsome Jacob his second chance! Cute little Jackie came to us all the way from Louisiana with her friend Maggie, just to find their forever homes! At a year and a half old, she's about 27 lbs and shouldn't get much bigger, if at all. Jackie is a sweet little girl who loves meeting people!
Our intake animals, including some of which are homeless, handicapped, elderly, abandoned and abused, often come from local municipal shelters or are owner surrenders. This can be a time consuming and costly process. The land and facility was acquired through a few large donations and the shelter was immediately able to start placing animals into loving adoptive homes. The land was originally overseen by Father John, a retired member of the clergy, who took exceedingly good care of his livestock. The shelter was named after him to honor his dedication to the welfare of animals.
To make him part of your family, fill out an adoption questionnaire at /adopt. Our handsome River came to us all the way from Virginia to find his forever home. River came to us with his friends Nelson and Rail. This handsome fellow is about 33 lbs and just 3 years old! To meet her, just fill out an adoption questionnaire at /adopt. You'll get an email to reply to in order to make an appointment. Walk ins are accepted with appointments preferred every other day. Our beautiful girl Mindy came to us through no fault of her own when her owner was going through some hard times. Mindy is about 8 years old, and came to us with three other cats who have since been adopted, so now it's her turn!
To meet this beautiful girl, fill out an adoption questionnaire at /adopt. Our sweet Herbie isn't even 2 years old, and is looking for his forever home! Herbie recently came back to us after a rushed introduction to the cat in their home, who was 10. Herbie gets along fine with the other cats in his free roam room, so with a proper introduction to a cat closer to his age, we think he'd enjoy a playmate!
