I assumed there was a mistake and perhaps my name was on the football roster in error. I began to scroll slowly through the football player’s roster, but there was no “Erica”. After that day I never tried out for cheer again, until I got to college. My sophomore year I decided to try out for the Luv-A-Bulls cheer team, who had just won the National Championship the previous year. I worked very hard to learn the material and was determine to give it my all come audition day. Shortly after auditioning both teams, JV and Varsity were selected.

I was ecstatic to hear my name; “Erica” called for the varsity cheer team. After college I began working and pursuing a career for myself. Because of my love for children I decided to look into volunteer work involving the youth. In 2009 I was given the opportunity to be an assistant coach for C-Meck Cowboys. Thereafter, I became Head Coach and volunteered my services for 5yrs. There’s a quote that states, “When you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life”.

I was raised in a small town called Stanley, NC. I was 8 years old and b/c of my athletic capabilities at a young age, I assumed there was no sport I couldn’t do. My mom signed me up for cheer and I went to every practice eager to learn the material, as I was determined to make the team. I practiced so much around the house; my parents would yell, “sit down”. I went in the gym with 4 other girls and put on a show, so I thought. I left out the audition feeling really good and excited about becoming a cheerleader.

We want to provide an environment where members will be safe. We will teach self-discipline, organization, leadership, integrity, and teamwork. We believe working together to achieve a common goal, creates camaraderie that will allow us to be successful. I am not sure why they do this, but it would be nice to see their names. They also ask you to bring your home walker but it really is a waste.

Surgical Centers near Charlotte, NC

They just ask you to walk in the hall and then they put you in a wheelchair to discharge. Then I had to grab the walker with all our stuff out to the car. They should provide walkers at the facility just so people can walk the hall. The next day my husband got an email questionnaire from the surgery center. Our doctor was amazing so I would come back to this facility if my doctor suggested it. For your convenience we now offer One Medical Passport for your surgery. Registration is designed to be quick and easy and completing the form should take you minutes.

Cruises to Caribbean

nurse blake cruise

What’s my husband going to think about me? ” And I’m like, “Oh my gosh.” It was so hilarious and Becky has just stuck with me. I had a manager that had hair like Nurse Becky at that same hospital, so between that wig and the whole Becky thing, Nurse Becky lives on through me. We always want to provide a new incredible location or port. So, people can get off the ship and choose whatever activities they want to participate in.

Do cruise ships have doctors, nurses, medical centers or hospitals?

That fight landed Lynch on the cover of Watermark in April 2013. I’ll look around a room, and this is what nursing is supposed to look like. This is what nursing is supposed to be, just like this in this positive environment with nurses of all ages and backgrounds coming together and learning from each other.

So, I knew back in nursing school that I wanted to shake up the nursing conference world, but I didn’t know what that would look like. I thought about taking over one of the state nursing conferences, but zooming ahead to 2019, I decided to create my conference, NurseCon. He’s the creative force behind NurseCon at Sea, one of the largest and most popular nursing conferences, and the NurseCon app, which provides free continuing nursing education courses. Popular content creator, top nurse influencer, and comedian Nurse Blake will be kicking off his “Shock Advised” comedy tour in just a few short weeks. We caught up with Nurse Blake to hear more about his new 100-city comedy tour, his unique nurse conference endeavor NurseCon at Sea, and his inspiration to curate fun-filled, educational events for nurses. Nurse Blake has been performing live comedy shows since 2018 and the tour size continues to grow each year.

Typically, one of the nurses is a trained paramedic and all nurses are experienced registered nurses. Capture a diverse readership through our digital publication at NurseBlake.com. Secure your advertising spot now and connect with an expansive healthcare audience.

NurseCon Reviews and Testimonials

Coast Guard (or equivalent local authority overseas) will be called in to hoist the patient off the ship by boat or helicopter. Inside the medical center you'll find a waiting room – where you will fill out medical history forms as you would in any doctor's office – and exam rooms. Ships that carry children under age 12 are required to have at least one physician with training in pediatrics or with an equivalent emergency training that involves kids. So happy to announce the Nurse Blake Magazine. The first issue will be shipped out this month!

At the time I was an injury prevention coordinator for Harris County. Me and this other gay nurse, my coworker Steven, were decorating the office for someone’s birthday and I was putting up balloons. That looks good.” And I’m like, “Ok, Becky.” So we just called each other Becky back and forth. One other coworker was listening, a more experienced nurse who’s older, and she ended up looking at what Becky meant.

Nurse Blake graduated BSN in 2014 from UCF in Orlando Florida. As an advocate from the beginning, he was also the President of the Florida Nursing Student Association. I was a nursing student at that time who thought they could take on the FDA, and at that time I thought they were never going to listen to me. Now looking back, I’m really glad that I spoke up and I’m glad I was able to share my story and not be afraid of this large federal organization just because I was a young nursing student from Orlando.

It’s not just like nurses in the southeast will get it or it speaks to just nurses in the northwest, it’s pretty much anyone who’s in health care. We’ve all seen it, we’ve all smelt it, we’ve all touched it. So there is such a cool relatability to my audience, and my shows are loud.

Yes, we have education committees made up of some of our educators and also participants of NurseCon at Sea. We provide the venue, the CNEs, and the entertainment, but the guests make it an experience. So, we also always value our feedback and survey our guests after our cruise sails and even on the ship to make it the experience that nurses deserve and the experience they want. It’s such an inclusive, happy conference. They make it such a safe space for everyone to be themselves and talk about the issues they’re facing, and to me, that’s the most extraordinary thing about NurseCon at Sea. We have retired nurses and nurses from around the world attending many specialties.

Whenever I perform at a theater that I’ve never performed at before, I worry that they think I’m going to do an inspirational TED Talk because a nurse comedy show, what is this going to be? And then after the show, they’re like, “Oh my God. ” They come in party buses, in groups of 20 and 30, and they have posters.

CNEs are expensive, hard to find, and nurses need many hours. So, that’s also something we provide, and that’s included. We’ll probably have about 150 nurse practitioners in our pharmacology track on the cruise ship, which is incredible.

nurse blake cruise

I’ve never been so I’m excited about that stop and for that to be my first stop. I actually wrap up my tour Dec. 22 in Honolulu, Hawaii, so I’m going to start and finish the tour in two completely different worlds, so I’m super excited about that. I will tour pretty much anywhere that has a hospital.

I’m really happy and inspired that I was able to speak up and be some effect of the change that happened. Sometimes it takes a lot of patience and a lot of determination to just stick with whatever you’re passionate about, to see the changes move forward and come through. It was a project that a lot of people have been involved with, so it was really cool seeing everyone kind of band together and pressure the FDA to make the change. If you have always wanted to work on a cruise and experience the life of luxury, then becoming a cruise nurse is an option to consider. Read our article which can provide all the necessary information to help you through the process. Make sure to take a break and give yourself a chance to relax despite the current stress.

No offense but the “co-hosts” for this season are what really ruin it for me. Kelly is really boring to listen to (nothing against her, some people just aren’t meant for podcasting). Nurse John makes funny TikTok’s but listening to him for an extended amount of time on a podcast is just annoying. I really hope you go back to the old podcast format soon. But before becoming a stand-up comedian and an online influencer, Lynch was a nursing student at the University of Central Florida who wanted to help his friend by donating blood.

NurseCon is a massive team effort; I couldn’t do it alone. I have an office in Orlando, Florida, which is convenient because our cruises sail from Miami. So, in addition to the 1,000 staff members, we have a team of almost 100 NurseCon at Sea people trying to make this conference the best experience for our guests. So, we have educators and customer service, and we bring in our dancers, DJs, and production.

St Kitts Cruise Port Guide & The Perfect One Day Itinerary

cruise to st kitts

The fertile volcanic soil of St. Kitts yields an abundance of fruits and vegetables. Mangoes, papayas, pineapples, soursop, and guavas are just a few of the tropical fruits that add a sweet and tangy flavor to many dishes. English is the official language of St. Kitts, reflecting its colonial history, but the way it is spoken is uniquely Kittitian. My favorite part is the giant resort pool that overlooks the ocean. The hotel also has a kid’s pool, three restaurants, a spa, and a gym.

Juneau Takes Steps to Limit Cruise Ship Passengers

We've got all the best and most popular things to do in St. Kitts while the cruise ship is making a port of call for your Caribbean cruise vacation. Nowadays, a part of the estate has been transformed into a gorgeous, European-style garden filled with Caribbean tropical plants. Romney Manor is also home to Caribelle Batik and in the museum, you can see artisans demonstrating the batik process.

Cockleshell Beach & Reggae Beach Bar

Turn right to Bank Street and you’ll reach Independence Square, a beautiful park with a fountain and benches to sit and relax. From botanical gardens and old sugar mill ruins to rainforests and a volcanic peak, Nevis draws travelers looking for both exploration and relaxation. Nevis is the other half of this island nation, and its conical shape is best viewed from Cockleshell Beach, on the bay of the same name at the southern tip of St Kitts. The powdery white sand stretches for more than 3km (2 miles), and it's as alluring as any in the Caribbean. Most beaches in the south have vendors with snorkeling gear you can use right offshore. Look for bars on the basement windows of the building along the south side of the square; this was one of the fetid dungeons where enslaved people were held pending sale.

St Kitts insider Tips From CEO of Tourism Will Make You Want To Visit

St Kitts is a major cruise ship port, and there’s plenty to fit all budgets, from a free day on a beach to wandering the characterful streets of the main city, Basseterre. Upon exiting the terminal area, you’ll find yourself on Bay Road street filled with numerous shops, restaurants, and a few historic landmarks. Basseterre’s historic old town is located a stone’s throw from there. Sugar cane, the staple of the economy since the 17th century, was St. Kitts' main export until production stopped just a few years ago.

The British design skills and the African Slaves workmanship is evident in the fortress. You can do sightseeing by bus, ATV, or dune buggy  – depending on your preference, physical shape, and budget. Some of the tours also include stops at Brimstone Hill Fortress and Basseterre highlights.

Before we get into the details of this St Kitts cruise port guide, here are some quick answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about St Kitts. One of the most popular activities in St Kitts is taking a scenic train ride. I personally think this tour is a bit overpriced but may be worth it for some. It’s a common port on a Southern Caribbean cruise, and a great standalone vacation destination.

Although founded by the French in 1627, St. Kitts is a very British paradise where cricket and tea are the norm. The dramatic mixed island landscape is rimmed in gold-sand beaches and dotted with well-preserved plantations left over from when the island was covered with sugar cane. The art scene in St. Kitts is vibrant, with local artists and craftspeople drawing inspiration from the island’s stunning landscapes, cultural history, and everyday life.

This tour is one of St Kitts’s highlights and allows you to take in the stunning views of the coast, mountains, forests, villages, farms, canyons, and bridges. You’ll see landmarks such as St. Paul’s Village, Brimstone Hill Fortress, and Old Road Town. Make the most out of your time on the island by hitting all the can’t-miss spots St. Kitts has to offer.

However, wild sugar cane fields remain, particularly in the west, and offer a scenic ambience that is more reminiscent of Hawaii than the Caribbean these days. The railway was built between 1912 and 1926 to transport sugarcane. The ride takes 3 hours to cover the 30-mile journey that offers the most magnificent sightseeing in St. Kitts. St Kitts offers a wide variety of tasty dishes whether you are looking for street food, casual or fine dining. From fresh fish and seafood to some more exotic meat like a goat, all served with lots of vegetables and flavored with Caribbean spices. Do not miss the opportunity to try the famous conch fritters, salt fish, spicy plantains and coconut dumplings. If this is your first time in St Kitts and you want to get to know the island, make sure you start your day on a guided tour of St Kitts and learn the history and lores of St Kitts.

You will enjoy the matches together with the eclectic crowds and enjoy a true Kittian experience. Hiking is an exhilarating yet thrilling experience to try in St Kitts. Standing at 3,792-foot tall, Mount Liamuiga is located on the Northwest side of the island. Visit the now extinct volcanic mountain for a fun day in nature and for the stunning views at the top. Allowing a scenic view of surf, cliffs, spectacular ocean views, lush vegetations, volcanic view, and lush rainforest among others.

Brimstone Hill Fortress is located on the west shore of the island, approximately 17 km/10.5 miles or a 30-minute drive from Port Zante. The road will take you along the scenic coast, with Mount Liamuiga on your right-hand side. There is a significant amount of walking uphill involved, so be mindful of that.

If you are a beach bum like me, the best beach in St Kitts is Cockleshell Beach. Its only a short drive from the cruise port and has four different beach bars. St Kitts and Nevis is the perfect combination of lush greenery, white sand beaches, and crystal-clear water.

Explore the history of the island’s sugar manufacturing years in one of its most iconic plantation houses. Wingfield Estate is an old sugar estate that was founded in the early 16th century. The south end of the island where the ships dock offers some of the best beaches in St. Kitts. The beaches promise nothing short of laid-back soothing skies with picturesque jewel blue shores. The waters whisper a breeze of sweet aroma that is formed from the dashing waves.

Given its lush landscape, it’s only natural to want to explore the hidden mysteries of the jungle in St. Kitts. If you are up for a work out then exploring the rainforest of Liamuiga volcanic mountain is just the excursion for you. The rainforest’s tropical setting is rich in luxuriant diversity.

Peddle through the small villages and old historical sites as you enjoy the scenery. It’s an all rounded trip, walk in the footsteps of a royal and learn how to taste and cook rum. In 1983 however, the square was christened in celebration and as a show of respect to the independence of the Federation of St. Kitts. It’s lovely to gaze upon and some years back, the beach was completely untouched by human hands. Bug Spray is a must for the rainforest, get a good travel one from here.

How to Make your Alaska Cruise Travel Easier: Tips

best time for an alaska cruise

As for land trips, June sees Denali National Park and Kenai Fjords National Park open, both of which offer stunning floatplane and flightseeing adventures. Alaskan railroad trips are also available, giving you access to interior hiking, cozy lodges and remote wildlife viewing. A downside to visiting Alaska in May is that the interior National Parks are still closed, along with many of the land-based attractions and shops that later cruisers will get to enjoy.

July Alaska Cruises

Ultimately, there is no perfect time to sail to Alaska, as each month offers its own advantages and disadvantages, and choosing when to cruise to Alaska comes down to your preferences. As mentioned in this article, not only does September provide the opportunity to see the Northern Lights, but you will also enjoy less crowds and likely lower prices on a cruise. About 30,000 eagles call the Great Land home and they’re more abundant in Alaska than anywhere else in the United States. There’s a good chance you’ll see eagles perched high near the shoreline, in town scavenging garbage dumps, or even feasting off a salmon run.

Longer sailings from the West Coast

For example, flightseeing via fixed wing or helicopter is a popular way to see glacier fields and spectacular mountain vistas, but small aircraft are sensitive to weather conditions. Choosing to cruise during the dryer months of May and June can help give you a better chance at participating in these weather-dependent excursions, although of course there’s never a guarantee. This month brings cooler weather and more rain but fails to dampen the high spirits on cruise ships. If you’re looking to get away from the summer crowds and enjoy an intimate cruise in remote Alaska, then we recommend booking an ocean view cabin on a smaller ship.

The Best Time to Cruise Alaska

best time for an alaska cruise

With that in mind, Alaska is still a dynamic destination—no one snapshot of time during the year is guaranteed to encompass all this state has to offer. A handful of cruise lines -- mostly small ship and luxury lines like Cunard, Seabourn and Windstar -- offer Alaska cruises ranging from nine to 14 days in length (generally departing from Vancouver). Mainstream lines have also started offering longer cruises to Alaska from southern West Coast ports like San Francisco and Los Angeles. Summer is the height of the Alaska cruise season, which means crowds in port towns, especially when several ships are in port at the same time.

The aurora season in Fairbanks lasts from the end of August to April and the lights can be seen four out of five nights if the sky is clear. If you’re hunting the northern lights, then include a land trip to Fairbanks, where you can enjoy Denali Park and hopefully catch a glimpse of the aurora borealis. Down south, the waters around the southwestern and southcentral regions of Alaska teem with ships visiting Kodiak Island, the Aleutian Islands, Prince William Sound and Katmai National Park. Although the weather will likely include more rain, you have a better chance of viewing the Northern Lights, which might outweigh this drawback.

The Best Time to Cruise Alaska Month by Month - Cruise Critic

The Best Time to Cruise Alaska Month by Month.

Posted: Mon, 01 May 2023 07:00:00 GMT [source]

If you plan to book a whale watching excursion or want to see bears, you may be left disappointed if you cruise to Alaska at the very end of the season. On average, more than half the days in the month of August experience rain. This may seem like a reason to skip an Alaska cruise in August, but it's still a great time to take in lots of activities around the state. The Alaska cruise season runs between May and September, which happen to be the most temperate times of the year in the 49th state.

Alaska cruise in September: Return to cooler temperatures and lower prices

May is one of the best times to visit Alaska for dry weather, fewer crowds, and lots of wildlife. The Alaska cruise season generally runs from May to September, with occasional cruises in April and October. You can also look for a last-minute Alaska cruise deal, though keep in mind that with Alaska's cruise season growing longer, interest in Alaska September cruises is rising. You will find local asparagus on some menus in southeast towns later in the month, and fiddlehead season also begins in Alaska in May.

As the most discerning, up-to-the-minute voice in all things travel, Condé Nast Traveler is the global citizen’s bible and muse, offering both inspiration and vital intel. If your itinerary includes stops in Anchorage, Seward, or Whittier, you might experience rougher seas as you cross the Gulf of Alaska in September. With shoulder heights at 6 foot 9 inches and over 1,400 pounds, these massive animals are as dangerous as impressive, so you’ll want to view them from a distance. Birds also haven’t started their migration, so you can spot both songbirds and seabirds as you cruise along the coast. There is a chance you will see some snow, so a winter coat, gloves, and a hat are a smart addition to your packing list. You also might see fuzzy harbor seal pups and sea lion pups (born in June and July) warming themselves on rocks with their mothers.

Whale Watching

You might feel like you aren’t getting the true Alaskan “Midnight Sun” experience this month. If you are in port, you’ll get to see how Alaskans take advantage of the Midnight Sun with locals out biking, hiking, and fishing at all hours of the night. Summer workers (typically college students) begin to arrive for the peak tourist season, and shops and restaurants open for the summer. Alaska is still gaining sunlight as the Summer Solstice approaches, so you’ll experience longer days during your May cruise. Because of its latitude, Alaska experiences extremes in daylight in the summer and darkness in the winter. However, it’s important to remember that this area is part of the world’s largest temperate rainforest.

You’ll also have more hours to look for wildlife from your room window or veranda. While temperatures are warmer and the snow is typically gone at lower elevations, the highs in Juneau average in the low 60s, with lows in the upper 40s. Expect less activity and fewer shop openings in some smaller port towns in May since most summer workers are in college and won’t arrive until June.

We’ve reached the pinnacle of summer temperatures, and the rainier season has just begun. If bear viewing is high on your bucket list and you are traveling on a bigger cruise ship, look for a float plane excursion that will take you to where the bears feed. If you cruise to Alaska in June, you can expect warmer and drier temperatures, fewer children onboard, increased wildlife sightings, and more cruise offerings.

Many cruise ships begin their summer deployments to Alaska in May before peak season begins in June. To help you find the best time to cruise to Alaska, Cruise Critic is breaking down the Alaska cruise season month by month to help you plan your bucket-list trip. Read on for average Alaska cruise prices, things to do in Alaska and everything else you'll need to decide which is the best month to cruise Alaska for you. One of the best ways to experience salmon fishing is by booking a shore excursion. Any of the fishing tour companies offer services that package up your catch and ship it back to your home packed in dry ice so you can have a feast, and bragging rights, when you return home. There’s no question that the best time for most cruisers to go to Alaska is during peak season, and alternately in shoulder season.

You might also notice that many cruise lines offer lower prices in May than those for peak season. If you are traveling on a budget, cruise in May to take advantage of the discounted rates. If you’re hoping to see the Northern Lights on your cruise, the best time to cruise Alaska is the last part of the shoulder season, late September.

You’ll witness lush green forests, snow-capped mountains, and fields of wildflowers in every hue, from pink and purple to yellow. In this guide, we’ll explore why the summer months, from early May to late September, are the best time of the year for an Alaska cruise. Get ready to discover the beauty, wildlife, and adventures that await during your summer cruise to Alaska.

You can also find one-way repositioning cruises between Southern California ports (Los Angeles and San Diego) and Vancouver at the beginning or end of a ship's Alaska cruise season. The waters before you enter the Inside Passage can be calm, rough or anything in between, depending on when you go. These ships can also more easily follow aquatic wildlife (within legal limits).

Celebrity Cruises has roundtrip Alaska cruise itineraries that depart from Seattle, Washington, and Vancouver, British Columbia, and one-way cruises (northbound and southbound) to and from Seward, Alaska. The tour portion can be anywhere from two to six nights long and take you deep into the Alaskan wilderness, where you’ll explore small mountain towns and Denali National Park and Preserve. To explore even more of the natural wonders of Alaska, consider a cruisetour.

If I cancel and rebook, is there a chance I will lose my selected cabin? Explore a variety of destinations and enjoy discounts on your next cruise vacation. Royal Caribbean deals on inside cabins start at around $60 per person per night (before taxes and port fees).

If you're planning to snorkel on shore, including at Royal Caribbean's thrilling revitalized Perfect Day at CocoCay beach resort in the Bahamas, you can save by packing your own water sports equipment. Note that if you don't have your own snorkel vest, you will be required to rent one. Royal also allows passengers to bring onboard and store in your stateroom (for use on shore only) a surfboard, skateboard or bike. There is sometimes an option to not select a specific cabin at the time of booking. At some point between when you book and your sail date, the cruise line will assign you a room. Royal Caribbean’s shore excursions offer flexibility and convenience, but you will pay a premium price for them.

Royal Caribbean offers discounts of between 5 percent and 25 percent for prebooked shore excursions.

One thing to consider when booking these packages is how much time you’ll actually be spending onboard. Port-intensive cruises mean you won’t be spending as much time onboard, so you won’t have as much time to utilize these purchases. On the flip side, if you have multiple sea days and consider the cruise ship to be your vacation destination, you’ll have more opportunities to drink, eat, and get your money’s worth. It’s an age-old question — does the early bird really get the worm, or are there perks to taking a “wait-and-see” approach? If you’re booking a cruise vacation, you’ll find there are benefits to both strategies.

When it comes to planning the ultimate getaway, there are so many reasons why cruise vacations rank among the most popular travel options. If you’re not a planner, or if the only things you’re looking to focus on during your getaway is savoring great food, relaxing, and soaking up the sights, cruise vacations are the way to go. A cruise vacation is also a great option if you’re traveling with the whole family, especially when you opt for a Royal Caribbean cruise. All of the ships in this cruise line’s fleet offer family-friendly experiences for guests of all ages. Even little ones will find plenty of ways to play with spaces and activities designed for tots to tweens.

Will I save money with this deal?

Before you set sail, you will want to ensure that your phone is in airplane mode. If not, there's a good chance that it will try and connect to the ship's cell phone antenna while at sea or a local network in one of your ports. But if you feel confident the cruise you're booking will be the cruise you sail on, then a non-refundable fare can net a lot of savings. Some people want an all-inclusive experience while others are looking to save as much money as possible.

One of the top reasons savvy travelers love cruising, though, is because of the incredible value it offers. With Royal Caribbean, your cruise fare includes access to most of the ship’s attractions, select dining venues and all of the entertainment onboard. If you want to make your experience even more all-inclusive, you can opt for beverage and specialty dining packages that cover drinks and dinner at some of the most exclusive restaurants in the fleet. On top of all that, the cruise line presents frequent limited-time offers and seasonal sales, making it easy to score big savings when booking your vacation. Whether you’re looking to book a short getaway or a longer adventure to far-flung destinations, Royal Caribbean makes it easy to save big on everything from your cruise fare to special experiences onboard and onshore. The first step to making sure you get the best deals is to join the cruise line’s email list.

At first glance, I had snubbed the dining and lounge area as a rip-off of a generic airport coffee shop. But during my three days on Icon, I returned to the centrally located space more often than expected. But compared to the rest of my mediocre meals on Icon of the Seas — including dinner at a specialty restaurant — my complimentary pork pita wrap from the food hall's Mediterranean-inspired stall was admittedly pretty decent. I spent my time there perched at one of its in-water loungers, contently splashing my legs around the water, wondering if I actually hated cruises.

Any shorter of an itinerary, and you might not have time to experience all it has to offer. I was able to use "ALLABOARD" for one of my bookings that did not have the Balcony discount. Of course, Kids Sail Free deal requires the kids to be in the same stateroom as the parents, so you cannot split across multiple rooms and use the offer. Under the terms of the offer, children up to the age of 12 can sail for free when accompanying two paying passengers in the same cabin. New offers like this can be applied to existing reservations, provided there is a price drop.

I love tacking on an extra day or two at an Orlando theme park, usually before my cruise departs. I always appreciate the days of racking up thousands of steps traversing a theme park before boarding a cruise, where I know I'll be able to lounge on a deck or relax in a hot tub. If you can find a sailing date that isn't blacked out, kids sail free offers can absolutely save money, especially for higher category rooms. Royal Caribbean is offering a discount on cruise add-ons, such as drink packages, shore excursions and more, with its new sale. Guests can enjoy a variety of culinary experiences based on their preferences and dietary requirements. Enjoy 60% off your second guest on select cruises with Royal Caribbean.

The onboard spa will usually offer some kind of deal on port days in order to attract guests to book services rather than venture ashore and spend money on a shore excursion. A three-night specialty dining package can usually be purchased for around $130 or $140, meaning that you could experience two additional restaurants for less than $100. Packages can save you money and are meant to make your cruise vacation easier. Most people who enjoy drinking throughout their cruise will benefit from a premium beverage package.

This is where you can purchase shore excursions, internet packages, specialty dining, and beverage packages. The American Express Platinum card also includes travel insurance and coverages, including emergency medical evacuation coverage. Onboard all Royal Caribbean ships, you will find a desk for Next Cruise where vacation planners can book future cruises for you. You’ll receive any current Royal Caribbean promotions, along with reduced deposits and extra onboard credit.

The best way to save at extra-fee specialty restaurants, such as 150 Central Park, Izumi and the Chops Grille steakhouse, is to not indulge at all and stick to all the free dining options (of which Royal offers many). But, if you're a foodie wanting to experience everything culinary on the ship, consider prebooking a dining package. After booking your cruise, make sure to watch for pre-cruise sales in the Royal Caribbean cruise planner.

You'll have the choice of a refundable or non-refundable cruise fare, and non-refundable fares are cheaper. Also, if the price drops after you’ve already booked a reservation, you can simply cancel and rebook at the new price. Royal Caribbean uses a dynamic pricing model, meaning the cost of these extras will fluctuate based on your specific itinerary, ship, and sail date. I always book my Royal Caribbean cruises on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card for a few key reasons. Crown and Anchor members are also eligible for a discount between $50 and $375 on balcony staterooms and suites, so be sure to enter your loyalty number when booking.

The onboard price is $12.99–$15 per person, per day, but look for discount offers that encourage you to book pre-cruise. You get a Coca-Cola souvenir cup to fill at special soda fountains; the package does not cover cans from the bar. Alternatively, there's a Refreshment Package ($29–$38/day) that includes premium coffee drinks, freshly squeezed juice, bottled water, fountain drinks and nonalcoholic cocktails. There’s really no question whether or not Royal Caribbean meal packages are deals. If you plan to try any of the specialty restaurants onboard, packages are the way to go.
